Princeton Engagement Photos with a Gothic Twist | Jordan + Joe
When you think of Princeton, your mind probably goes to ivy-covered walls and dreamy architecture. But for Jordan + Joe, it became the backdrop of their gothic fairytale. 🕯️✨ With soaring stone arches, cathedral doors, and old-world vibes, their engagement session felt like a page torn from a dark romance novel.
Dressed head-to-toe in black, Jordan’s flowing gown and Joe’s sharp alternative style transformed Princeton into something out of a gothic dreamscape. These two didn’t just show up to take photos—they made Princeton theirs.
Their Love Story
Like many modern love stories, Jordan + Joe’s began on Bumble. Jordan sent the first message—making sure to stand out with a playful line about sports questions (a bold move, and clearly the right one).
Not long after, Joe called her one night after finishing boxing training and asked if she wanted to go for a drive. That drive turned into hours of conversation—deep, real, and effortless. As Joe puts it, he knew from that night that he wanted to marry her.
Jordan was the first to say “I love you,” on their fourth date… in front of Joe’s sister (and with a little liquid courage 🥂). Since then, their relationship has been a reminder that everything truly does happen for a reason. Both believe their paths could have crossed earlier, but it wouldn’t have been the right time. Life had to shape them first, so they could be ready to build the kind of love that doesn’t just exist—it thrives.
Gothic Romance Meets Princeton Backdrops
For their engagement session, we leaned into their alternative style while highlighting the historic beauty of Princeton.
The Arches: Nothing says gothic romance like twirling under a stone archway that feels centuries old.
The Cathedral Doors: Wooden doors with intricate carvings became the perfect frame for stolen kisses and quiet moments.
Marble Columns: Strong, timeless, and dramatic—just like their love.
Every backdrop elevated their vibe, blending dark romance with timeless architecture. Jordan’s black dress and bold makeup (flawlessly done by @lovemarkbeauty) brought high drama in the best way possible.
Why I Love Sessions Like This
Engagement sessions don’t have to look like anyone else’s. Your love is unique—your photos should be too. Jordan + Joe turned Princeton into their own gothic love story, proving once again that love and eyeliner never go out of style. 🖤
